A little about Learning Disabilities

Learning disabilities (LD) are neurological conditions that affect the brain's ability to receive, process, or store information, impacting one's ability to learn in specific areas.

The Learning Disabilities Association of America and many other mental health practitioners regard the seven disorders as specific learning disabilities i.e. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, auditory processing disorder, language processing disorder, nonverbal learning disabilities and visual perceptual disabilities.

Each learning disability affects people differently, and many individuals may have more than one. Diagnosis is typically done by a professional, such as a psychologist or special educator, and tailored interventions can be designed to help manage and support learning needs.
